UMB INTERNATIONAL DIRECT
STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN
2023-2024 Academic Year
UMB International Direct is pleased to announce that for the 2023-2024 Academic Year we have teamed up with Wellfleet Student and University Health Plans (UHP) to provide health insurance coverage for our students. The UMB International Direct Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) provides substantial benefits for covered medical expenses at a reasonable cost.
Eligibility
All UMB International Direct students are required to enroll in the UMB International Direct SHIP. Therefore, students are automatically enrolled, and no action is necessary.
Plan Highlights
The UMB International Direct SHIP is provided by Wellfleet Student. We encourage you to review the coverage by selecting the "Benefit Information” tab in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of this page. Below are some of the highlights of the insurance plan.
- Access to Cigna's nationwide provider network
- Unlimited maximum benefit per plan year
- Prescription drug coverage
- Office Visit: $10 Copay
- Urgent Care: $10 Copay
- Emergency Room: 10% coinsurance, after deductible (waived if admitted)
- Emergency Transportation (Ambulance):10% coinsurance, after deductible
- Student Health Center: Claims are paid at 100% for covered medical services when rendered at the Student Health Center

Dental Plan
The dental plan is included in the Wellfleet medical plan and students can visit any dentist of their choice, as there is no specific network of dentists to choose from. The complete description of benefits can be found in the Brochure located in the "Benefit Information" tab in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of this page. Enrollment in this plan is mandatory. All students will be automatically enrolled, and no action is necessary.
Vision Plan
The vision plan provided by VSP Vision Care. The complete description of benefits and participating provider search can be found by clicking "Vision Insurance" in the left-hand side navigation menu. Enrollment in this plan is mandatory. All students will be automatically enrolled, and no action is necessary. Once you are enrolled, no ID cards or claim forms are needed when you see a VSP Network Doctor. Tell the doctor you are a VSP member when making the appointment.

UMB Health Services
University Health Services (UHS) is the on-campus resource for your medical and counseling needs. You can book appointments with UHS through My Beacon Health Portal. Always bring your insurance card with you when you go to UHS and upload a copy of your ID card in My Beacon Health Portal by clicking on the "Insurance Card" tab on the left-hand column of your homepage and following the prompts to add your insurance information. Additional information about UHS and the available services can be found by selecting "University Health Services (UHS)" from the navigation menu on the left-hand side of this page.
