Student Health Insurance Plan
2024-2025
Shorelight is pleased to announce that for the 2024-2025 academic year, we have teamed up with Wellfleet Student and University Health Plans (UHP) to offer health insurance coverage for international students entering the University of Central Florida through Shorelight. The International Health Insurance Plan provides substantial benefits for covered medical expenses at a reasonable cost.
Eligibility
All University of Central Florida students are required to enroll in health insurance. You have received communications directly from Shorelight, where you can enroll in the Shorelight Student Health Insurance Plan.
Plan Highlights
The Shorelight SHIP is provided by Wellfleet Student. We encourage you to review the coverage by selecting the "Benefit Information” tab in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of this page. Below are some of the highlights of the insurance plan.
- Access to Cigna’s nationwide PPO provider network
- Unlimited maximum benefit per plan year
- Prescription drug coverage
- Office Visit: $10 Copay
- Urgent Care: $10 Copay
- Emergency Room: 10% coinsurance, after deductible (waived if admitted)
- Emergency Transportation (Ambulance):10% coinsurance, after deductible
- Student Health Center: Claims are paid at 100% for covered medical services when rendered at the Student Health Center

Dental Plan
The dental plan is included in the Wellfleet medical plan. Students can visit any dentist of their choice, as there is no specific network of dentists to choose from. The complete description of benefits can be found in the Brochure located in the "Benefit Information" tab in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of this page. Enrollment in this plan is mandatory. All students will be automatically enrolled, and no action is necessary.
Vision Plan
The vision plan provided by VSP Vision Care. The complete description of benefits and participating provider search can be found by clicking "Vision Insurance" in the navigation menu on the left-hand side of this page. Enrollment in this plan is mandatory. All students will be automatically enrolled, and no action is necessary. Once you are enrolled, no ID cards or claim forms are needed when you see a VSP Network Doctor. Tell the doctor you are a VSP member when making the appointment.
