Wellesley College
STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN
2012-2013 Academic Year
Wellesley College is pleased to announce that for the 2012-2013 Academic Year we have teamed up with Blue Cross and Blue Shield to provide health insurance coverage for our students.
All students enrolled at least 3/4 time are required by Massachusetts State law to enroll in the Student Health Insurance or be covered by a health insurance plan with comparable coverage. To ensure compliance with Massachusetts law, Wellesley College students, including Davis Scholars are automatically enrolled in and billed for the Student Health Plan. To read the details on this law, visit www.state.ma.us/dhcfp. Click on “Student Health Insurance Program” and review the information on this page.
If you are a new spring student and do not want to enroll in the student insurance plan because you are currently enrolled in a plan of comparable coverage, please select the Waiver option below and complete the waiver form by providing your Insurance Company information. If coverage is not waived by the deadline, students will remain enrolled in and billed $1,046 for the Spring Student Health Insurance Plan.
International students cannot waive coverage unless they are covered by an insurance carrier based in the United States with coverage comparable to the Wellesley College Student Insurance Plan.
Should you choose not to waive the student health insurance plan, you will be mailed a wallet-sized card which indicates you are insured once you are on campus. This card should be presented when you need medical services off campus. If you have questions regarding the student health insurance plan, then please contact University Health Plans at info@univhealthplans.com or 800-437-6448. The annual health insurance charge is included in its entirety on your fall semester bill.
The Spring Waiver form will be available on December 6, 2012.
The Spring Waiver Appeal Deadline for Students is February 15, 2013
