Blackburn College

Accident and Sickness Plan
2013-2014 Policy Year

Blackburn College has a limited Accident and Sickness insurance policy for all students that will provide coverage throughout the academic year, effective June 1, 2014 through August 19, 2014. This policy will better assure access to medical care along with helping to offset the high cost of medical treatment and care for unexpected Accident or Sickness during the academic year. The cost of coverage is low and is included in the student program fees.

For those students who are covered under another insurance plan, the school sponsored insurance plan will be secondary. It will offset deductibles, co-insurance, and may pay for services not covered under a primary health insurance plan. For those students who have no other health insurance, this policy is primary coverage. For those students who participate in intercollegiate athletics, the College provides a separate policy for injuries sustained while participating on a Blackburn intercollegiate athletic team.

The Blackburn College Accident and Sickness Plan is underwritten by Commercial Travelers Mutual Insurance Company and serviced by University Health Plans. Covered Accidents and Sicknesses are clearly defined and subject to any applicable limitations and exclusions. Please view the online brochure for benefit information.

All students will receive an ID card. Please call University Health Plans at 1-800-437-6448 if you have any questions.
