STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN

2012-2013 Policy Year

Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is pleased to announce that for the 2012-2013 Academic Year we have teamed up with Blue Cross and Blue Shield to provide health insurance coverage for our students.

Massachusetts State law and MCPHS policy requires all Boston, Manchester and Worcester students (regardless of enrollment) to have health insurance. Unless proof of comparable coverage is provided, you must participate in the MCPHS student health insurance program.

If you do not submit an online waiver form by the deadline below, you will automatically be enrolled in the College's Student Health Insurance Program and you will be responsible for the cost of the health insurance premium.

If you submit an insurance waiver and then lose your coverage due to a qualifying life changing event, you must contact Student Financial Services at 617-732-2864 within 31 days to be enrolled in the BCBS SHIP. All students are required by law to have health insurance while enrolled at MCPHS.

All international students must enroll in the College's insurance program with the exception of:

Those international students whose sponsoring institutions have a signed agreement with MCPHS that complies with the College's health insurance waiver requirements or

International students with a plan for which their health insurance company's primary home office is based in the United States AND the policy provides comparable coverage to the College student health insurance plan.

International students who do not fall under the above conditions MUST purchase the College's student health insurance program and are therefore not eligible for a waiver.
